Since graduating with a Masters Degree in German and French from the University of Edinburgh in 1997, Gareth Roberts has undertaken numerous roles within the Commercial and Corporate Banking arms of HSBC globally, with experience of living and working in key international markets including London, Berlin, Paris and New York. Gareth obtained a Bachelor of Science in Financial Services at the University of Manchester and prior to relocating to the US, Gareth held many commercial banking relationship management and credit approval positions in the London Region. Most recently he served as the Area Director for Commercial Banking in West and North West London, overseeing a 20-person team and over 500 clients with revenues between $50m and $200m.

Today Gareth is an accomplished licensed Senior Corporate Banking Manager operating out of Long Island, NY. In this role he services the lending and operational needs of global and domestic Corporates with revenue sizes between $200m and $2bn. Additionally, Gareth has developed a strong focus on Corporates operating within the Food and Beverage space. He regularly collaborates with Heads of Agribusiness across HSBC’s global network to ensure that HSBC meets the needs of multinationals, importers and exporters, as well as manufacturing and distribution businesses worldwide. As Head of Food and Beverage at HSBC USA, Gareth is the architect of HSBC’s Food and Beverage proposition in the US. He oversees the activities of Food and Beverage Relationship Managers across all key US markets.
