The Long Island Food Council enjoyed an outstanding Inaugural East End Event at Hotel Indigo in Riverhead on Friday, April, 20. There were over 100 in attendance for this informational networking event. Keynote speakers, Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Executive and Randi Shubin Dresner, President & CEO of Island Harvest, kicked off the event. There was a panel discussion and food samplings from food entrepreneurs as well as a delicious farm to table lunch.
The event was a huge success and the Long Island Food Council was able to raise enough money for 2000 meals. A special check presentation was held on June 13 at Island Harvest in Hauppauge. Michael Tucker, Executive Director of Long Island Food Council, Randi Shubin Dresner of Island Harvest, Tami Racaniello, It’s Time to get Fit and Don DiLillo of Don’s Finest were on hand to present the donation to Island Harvest.
