First we would like to thank Island Harvest for hosting our February meeting in their new Bethpage office space.  As the Long Island Food Council grows, the sizes of our meeting rooms grow too.  Today we welcomed over 25 members of the council.  Special thank you to Zorn’s of Bethpage for catering breakfast for our meeting.

Bradley Hamburger of FOA & Son was our first speaker.  He educated us on the importance of recall liability insurance and stressed that some businesses small or large, may not be ready for a voluntary recall of their products.  FOA & Son has helped businesses ranging from startups to billion dollar companies prepare for the unexpected in the ever changing food industry.

Our feature food business of the meeting was JoAnn Linden of Crème Allure, a gourmet ice cream gift business based out of Commack.  JoAnn let the group sample a wide variety of some of her products and expressed her desire to grow the business.  The presentation, and treats were well received and members offered their support for her.

It is great to hear stories about our members working together, or making solid referrals for one another and we encouragement more of that in the future.  If you would like to join one of our meetings for the first time, please email info@LongIslandFoodCouncil.com for more information.
