Online Robotics Program– STEM Education and
Workforce Development Initiative

MTRC is offering the opportunity to sponsor a second session of the MTRC
robotics summer camp program, estimated for August 10 – August 21.
The full cost of running a second session for 30 students is $15,000.

Sponsorship levels are:
• $500 – Silver
• $1,000 – Gold
• $5,000 – Platinum
• $10,000 – Corporate

The robotics program was started in 2018 with one session of 24 students from surrounding school districts on Long Island. In 2019, we expanded two sessions to increase the number of students that can participate in the program throughout Long Island. Last summer, 51 students, spanning 35 school districts, from grades 6th through 12th grade were given full scholarships to attend this program this summer. See our recap video for 2019 and 2018.
Academia was thrust into cyberlearning during this pandemic to continue the school year. The robotics camp this year also adopts such online learning modules. In this new format, the students will still engage with each other, be able to demonstrate their work over tutorials, and will be able to share ideas.

Our mission is to bring Design, Innovation & Robotics Camp to the students in our community who will be our next generation of the workforce. Most importantly, we also plan on providing this opportunity to socioeconomically disadvantaged students on Long Island. The students will learn and practice Engineering Design, Practical Electronics, and Microcontroller Programming while working 1:1 with instructors over a virtual classroom setting to design, build, and program an autonomous and Bluetooth controlled robot.

We opened for applications and had to close it within ten days. We received over 100 applications for only 30 scholarship spots. The sponsorship funds from your generous supports will be used to host a second session from August 10 – August 21.
Start: Session 1: July 27 – August 7
Session 2: August 10 – August 21* with successful sponsorship
Cost of session for 30 students: $15,000
