Cyberliability and privacy are very important to the food, beverage and hospitality industries. Today the industry faces many 21st century risks including these:
- Automated ordering of food and food preparation – can lead to personal injury including customer adverse reactions to food resulting from data input and processing mistakes, both human and digital.
- Automated food delivery – in restaurants, hotels, and via new food delivery companies and drones.
- Cyber and data breach caused by third-party vendors like the Target breach (in which an HVAC contractor was the cause of the breach due to its insecure IT systems).
