SUMMARY:Starting a Food Truck Business
DESCRIPTION:SUFFOLK COUNTY EXECUTIVE BELLONE ANNOUNCES WEBINAR FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN STARTING A FOOD TRUCK BUSINESS \nSuffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today announced that the Suffolk County Departments of Economic Development and Planning and Department of Health Services will be hosting a webinar on July 7 for those interested in starting a food truck business. This webinar will educate participants on the steps and challenges that new business owners may face as they work to get their food truck business started. \n“We are working to bring our economy back stronger than ever and continue to learn what works best in regards to protecting public health\,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “Outdoor dining has proven successful during the COVID-19 pandemic\, and food trucks are uniquely positioned to adapt to the challenges posed by this crisis. This webinar will help potential business owners navigate the process and address any questions and concerns they might have.” \nThe webinar\, which will kick off at 10:00 AM\, will discuss\, opportunities in the market\, how to get started\, the permitting process\, business recovery\, success stories\, and mistakes to avoid. Advance registration is required. To register\, click here. \nThere are currently 228 Mobile Vending Vehicles in Suffolk County\, and they cover everything from coffee to dessert. Outdoor dining has been a key part in reopening our economy safely\, and the food truck industry is uniquely positioned to help provide additional open air dining experiences. The COVID-19 Pandemic may open up new marketing and retail opportunities for both startup and existing restaurants and food businesses by offering consumers increased options of food\, location\, and convenience. \nThe webinar is being offered as part of Suffolk County’s Business Recovery Unit (BRU). In March\, Suffolk County Executive Bellone launched the Business Recovery Unit to serve as a one stop shop for businesses in Suffolk County that are looking for assistance due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The unit consists of a comprehensive webpage\, www.suffolkcountyny.gov/BRU that continues to be updated with critical resources for our businesses. In addition to the website\, residents looking to be connected to the unit can dial 311 to speak with someone\, or email Business.Recovery@suffolkcountyny.gov. \nREGISTER TODAY
